Mykola Tomenko: Strategy and Ideology of the Pension Reform is Non-Constitutional and Anti-Popular
On Tuesday, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Tomenko spoke at the parliament after the voting for the bill on the pension reform. He stressed that the opposition does not call against the pension reform, but believes that the strategy and ideology of its implementation is non-constitutional and anti-popular.
M.Tomenko noted that there is neither serious resolution nor responsibility of the heads of regional administrations or respective officials concerning provision of decent labour remuneration and creation of workplaces in Ukraine. He stressed that ‘faithful´ heads of regional and district administrations set the trend, when the yardstick of their activity is the sum of money they collected out of the budget from the business entities to implement their own projects. However, M.Tomenko believes that local authorities should fight for every workplace, raising salaries and social standards in the regions.
Mykola Tomenko informed that the opposition is ready for constructive work, but the story with the pension reform showed that ‘authorities ignored all proposals of the opposition.´ He also stated that the opposition will appeal against the pension reform as the non-constitutional and anti-popular one at the Constitutional Court.
